Hi, I'm Pippa, the person behind Skeldro.
I’m a qualified Acupuncturist and Reiki Master, with a background as a Paramedic. My years working in healthcare have given me an understanding of pain, illness and the challenges that health problems can bring. They’ve also taught me something I think is just as important: sometimes, people simply need someone to listen, without judgement, and take the time to understand what life is like for them.
That’s a big part of why I created Skeldro.
Skeldro's objective
I’m passionate about helping people take back some control over their pain and wellbeing. I don’t want treatment to be something that simply happens to you. I want us to work together to understand what you’re experiencing, what might be contributing to it and, most importantly, what we can do about it. For me, good treatment is about more than what happens during an appointment. I’ll work with you to develop a plan that might include combinations of acupuncture, Reiki, massage, stretches, exercises, self-care or small changes that you can realistically incorporate into your everyday life. I want you to leave not only feeling that you’ve been listened to and treated, but with practical things you can do yourself.
Life doesn’t always fit neatly around an appointment.
I know that pain, work, family, caring responsibilities and everything else life throws at us can make looking after ourselves difficult. So I’ll always try to make your treatment plan work with your life, rather than expecting your life to work around it.
I also believe that access to treatment shouldn’t be limited by where you live or how easily you can travel. Where possible, I’m happy to discuss home visits, and visits to Orkney’s isles can also be arranged by discussion. Most importantly, I want Skeldro to feel like a welcoming and safe place to take a breath, slow down and look after yourself. My approach is straightforward: listen, understand, work together and find what works for you.
Skeldro is about taking a little time for yourself, finding some space to breathe, and hopefully finding a little more light along the way.
